About Us

Who is The Little Window Company?

We are a specialist provider of premium windows and doors based in Gloucestershire. Under the leadership of Managing Director Paul Davies, we combine exceptional craftsmanship with personal service to transform homes. We specialise in bespoke design and take pride in finding solutions that perfectly suit our clients' needs.

What areas do you serve?

We primarily serve Gloucestershire, Cheltenham, and the Cotswolds, but also work throughout surrounding areas including Oxfordshire, Worcestershire, and Monmouthshire. If you're unsure whether we cover your location, please get in touch.

What makes The Little Window Company different?

Unlike many competitors, we offer a truly comprehensive service with everything handled by our own in-house team. We provide an extensive range of materials including timber, aluminium, alu-clad, and uPVC, allowing us to recommend the perfect solution for every property type rather than pushing a single product. Our focus is on quality, craftsmanship, and customer satisfaction rather than high-pressure sales tactics.

Can I visit your showroom?

Of course! We welcome visitors to our showroom where you can see examples of our products and discuss your project with our team. Our showroom is located in Cheltenham and is appointment only.

Our Products

What types of windows and doors do you offer?

We offer an extensive range including casement windows, sliding sash windows, tilt and turn windows, flush casement windows, entrance doors, French doors, bifold doors, sliding patio doors, and more. These are available in various materials to suit different property styles and budgets. If you need a hand finding the right solution for your home, please get in touch!

Are your windows, doors and conservatories bespoke?

Yes, we are passionate about providing bespoke solutions to perfectly suit your needs. All our products are made to measure for your specific requirements. While we offer standard styles as starting points, each window, door, and conservatory is individually manufactured to your exact dimensions and customised with your choice of hardware, colour, glazing options, and finishing details to perfectly suit your property.

Do you offer triple glazing?

Yes, we can offer triple glazing as an option for many of our windows and doors. Triple glazing typically offers superior thermal efficiency (lower U-values) and better sound insulation but comes at a higher price point. To find out if triple glazing is suitable for your specific design, please get in touch with our team who can advise.

Can you match my existing windows and doors?

Yes, we specialise in creating perfect matches for existing windows and doors, which is particularly important for heritage renovations or properties with distinctive features. Our detailed measuring process and extensive customisation options allow us to replicate existing designs, including period details like glazing bar patterns, moulding profiles, and hardware styles.

What glazing options do you offer?

Beyond standard clear double or triple glazing, we offer numerous specialist options including: acoustic glass for noise reduction; solar control glass to minimise heat gain; self-cleaning glass for reduced maintenance; obscured/privacy glass in various patterns; decorative leaded designs; and Georgian/astragal bar arrangements. We can also incorporate integrated blinds sealed within the glazing unit for certain products.

What is Kubu smart technology?

Kubu is an innovative smart home technology that allows you to monitor the status of your doors and windows in real-time via a smartphone app. These discreet sensors alert you if windows or doors are left unlocked or opened unexpectedly, providing additional peace of mind and security. Kubu can be integrated with various door and window systems across our range.

How energy efficient are your windows and doors?

All our windows and doors exceed current building regulation requirements for thermal efficiency. The specific performance depends on the chosen material, style, and glazing options. We offer high-performance double and triple glazing to achieve excellent U-values across our entire range.

Heritage Properties

Can you supply windows for conservation areas and listed buildings?

Yes, we specialise in providing sympathetic window and door solutions for conservation areas and listed buildings. Our extensive experience with heritage properties allows us to create products that satisfy conservation requirements while discreetly incorporating modern performance benefits. We've worked successfully with conservation officers across Gloucestershire, the Cotswolds, and surrounding areas to achieve approvals for numerous heritage projects.

What types of windows are typically accepted in conservation areas?

Conservation areas generally require windows that maintain the character and appearance of the area. Timber windows are most commonly accepted, particularly sliding sash windows for Georgian, Victorian, and Edwardian properties. In some cases, high-quality alternatives like our Residence 9 system (which replicates traditional timber joinery) or aluminium windows with appropriate detailing may be approved. The specific requirements vary between different conservation areas.

Do I need planning permission to replace windows in a conservation area?

In most conservation areas, you'll need planning permission for replacement windows if they alter the appearance of your property. Even like-for-like replacements sometimes require consent. We can advise on the specific requirements for your location and support your application.

Can modern materials like uPVC ever be used in conservation areas?

In some conservation areas, high-quality alternatives to timber may be acceptable depending on the specific local policies and the particular property. Our Residence Collection uPVC windows, which accurately replicate traditional timber joinery, have been approved in certain conservation areas.
